Ongoing Employee Education for a Changing Staff
The automotive industry is fast paced. High employee turnover is a reality for many dealerships. You’re constantly educating new employees on benefit options and coordinating benefits enrollments. You don’t have time and additional resources to keep pace with a revolving workforce.
What if there was a better way? A way that allows you to focus on your bottom line, while a specialist guides and assists you with your benefits administration and ongoing employee education.
With over 50 years working in the automotive industry, American Fidelity has the experience to become an extension of your Human Resources department. Our account management team can help with:
- Onboarding for employee benefits
- Year-round support including new hire enrollments
- Multiple enrollment methods
- Ongoing education through various methods
There’s a lot of movement in auto. We can help you keep up with employee benefits administration, communication, and education, while you focus on your customers.
In 2011, the average dealership employee tenure was 3.8 years. Most recent data shows the number is down to 2.5 years.1

Enrollments Around Your Schedule
With our extensive relationships with auto dealers, we know how to run enrollments and are experienced in our field. Often, your sales employees are on test drives and your service department is rushing to get cars back on the road, likely with a room full of impatient vehicle owners. Our goal is to accommodate your departments’ needs and allow your employees to complete their benefits review and enrollment at a time that works for them.
For new hires, we’ll handle the setup and enrollment process as new employees are added. In addition, we offer certain benefits to new hires that are not subject to medical questions.
Compliance Support for Automotive Professionals
As a specialist narrowly focused on the automotive industry, we know the compliance that comes with the Patient Protection and Affordabe Care Act (ACA) generates worry for employers because of the financial penalties for non-compliance. That’s why we created an entire team dedicated to the ACA. From onsite assistance with Major Medical Plan Waivers to form filings and updates on regulatory changes, we can be your ACA compliance solution.
And, our compliance support extends beyond the ACA.
Benefits Built With the Automotive Industry in Mind
Our precise focus on just a few industries allows us to design plans and premiums specific to help meet your unique needs. We design our benefit programs to provide customization at the employee level. This allows employees to structure their benefit enhancements to meet their individual needs. And while numerous dealers limit the amount of available sick pay, American Fidelity’s signature short and long-term disability plans allow for duration of benefits and multiple elimination periods which empowers each employee to manage their risk based on their terms.
HSA Administration and Education
High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) are becoming more popular across most industries. In fact, in 2017 there were nearly 21.8 million people enrolled in HSA/HDHPs. This represents an overall increase of nearly 1.7 million enrollees since 2016.2
The rise in deductibles may scare employees. But, with education and the right deductible-management tools in place, the transition doesn’t have to be so troubling.
American Fidelity offers HSA administration and our account managers help employees understand how these savings accounts help with increased out-of-pocket expenses caused by rising deductibles.
Our account managers focus on a few industries, allowing us to easily provide our knowledge of what others are doing within your market.
Serve Same Employer Annually
We see the same employers and employees year-after-year and are familiar with how your employees’ needs change over time.
We reduce your administrative burden and act as an extension of your Human Resources department .
We are the Carrier and Provider
American Fidelity is both a carrier and benefits provider. This is an important benefit to auto dealers because it allows us to better manage your benefits education, enrollment, costs, and interaction with your employees. By using one provider, your employees also benefit from using a single online portal to file claims and manage their accounts. We customize benefits for auto dealers and help create a benefits strategy for your entire benefits program.
