American Fidelity was named one of Foundry's Computerworld 2023 Best Places to Work in IT. Landing at No. 10 among mid-sized companies, this is AF's 19th appearance on the list.
“I think our Colleagues enjoy working here because of our focus on developing solutions and making things easier for our Customers, the ability to be innovative and having work/life balance,” said Diana Bittle, chief information officer at American Fidelity. “Technology is constantly evolving and these changes present new challenges and opportunities. I am proud of how our team comes together to creatively solve problems and that they see American Fidelity as a best place to work in IT.”
More than 200 people work in the IT division at American Fidelity. The company is currently hiring software developers, engineers and architects; configuration analysts; data architects and engineers; data warehouse developers; and security engineers for hybrid positions in Oklahoma City, with some positions available for remote work. American Fidelity provides Colleagues competitive benefits, flexible schedules, a relaxed dress code and a collaborative environment. American Fidelity has earned an "A+" (Superior) from the A.M Best Company since 1982 for financial stability.
The Computerworld Best Places to Work in IT award recognizes top organizations that challenge IT team members while providing great benefits and compensation. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, DEI, future of work, training and retention. In addition, the rankings are reviewed and vetted by a panel of industry experts.
“Adapting to a ‘new normal’ has put additional demands on IT organizations at companies of all sizes. This year’s winning companies have stepped up with increased IT staffing and a variety of innovative professional development opportunities. The result of these efforts is that not only are IT staffs engaged and productive, but the entire business benefits from IT’s ability to support evolving workplace models and changing business and customer needs,” said Rob O’Regan, global director, content strategy, Foundry. “Importantly, this year’s award winners are laser-focused on diversity initiatives to expand the IT talent pool and promote workplace diversity and inclusion.”
