Streamlining Flexible Spending Accounts: A Success Story with American Fidelity.
Video Transcript:
My name is Josh Smith. I'm the director of Finance at the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District.
So the challenges when I first came here was really centered around two things. One was the Section 125 planning and ensuring that we were in compliance with IRS rules. And the second piece of that was just the manpower that I was having to put forth, in managing our Flex Spending Account. We have five elementaries, two middle schools, one high school. We have just north of 500 staff members, 375 teachers. I reached out to my mentor and just said, I need some recommendations, and she quickly referred me to American Fidelity.
It was less than a six week process and they were able to quickly onboard us and we had a very successful first year in enrollment. We were probably around 60 to 70% participation. Fast forward to last year, and we were very successful in that I think we had about 30 of our staff that did not enroll. So our goal this year is 100% participation.
American Fidelity is a great job with educating your people in the different optional insurances. But furthermore, just ways to make sure that their families are protected. I think the relationship that you form with your partners is one of the most important things, whether it's in banking or in education or anywhere in the business world. The simplicity of reaching out to our team at American Fidelity and getting it rectified with a simple email is nice.
I would say to give American Fidelity a try. If you are concerned about compliance at all or simplifying a process for your staff, American Fidelity has been one of the better decisions I've made since I've been at the school district.
