American Fidelity Launches New Health Care Reform Consulting Services Company

Oklahoma City-based American Fidelity Assurance Company (AFA) introduces the addition of American Fidelity Administrative Services (AFAS) to its family of companies. AFAS was created in response to the great demand from Customers to provide more in-depth health and welfare benefit plan analysis and strategy consulting assistance in light of Health Care Reform.
“One of the primary reasons Customers have turned to us for assistance with Health Care Reform and other health and welfare benefit plan issues is that we are independent – we do not insure major medical coverage. As such, we are well positioned to offer an objective view of all available options for our Customers,” said Susan Relland, vice president of AFAS and employee benefits attorney.
AFAS helps educate employers about the developing Health Care Reform law and provide a variety of resources to help employers understand what actions they must take. It offers consulting services to help educate employers on the Health Care Reform requirements, assist with health and welfare benefit plan strategy implementation and ongoing requirements. AFAS employs professionals who have extensive experience providing benefit plan consulting, legal, actuarial and compliance review services for both large and small employers.
Under Relland’s direction, consultants help employers manage their health and welfare benefit plans through a combination of consulting assistance and administrative services. They have developed four implementation packages to choose from that provide assistance with various Health Care Reform provisions, including the Free Rider Penalty and the Cadillac Tax. They have developed the website americanfidelityconsulting.com, which provides more information about the health and welfare benefit consulting services.
