Dave’s Story: Unexpected Turns
Dave is a man with many hobbies. He works at his local school district in the IT department, runs a successful restaurant, loves to golf and is an avid off-road enthusiast. With all his activities, he doesn’t have time to slow down. So, when he was diagnosed with eye cancer in 2020, he was afraid of his world skidding to a stop.
Bump in the Road
During a routine eye exam, Dave’s ophthalmologist, a friend, talked about his new examination machine. Dave agreed to test the new machine, thinking it would be fun having the images as a background on his computer. However, the image proved much more vital since they noticed something didn’t look right.
Navigating Financial Challenges
Over the next few months, Dave was in and out of doctor’s offices and had multiple surgeries. Even now, he is faced with monthly eye injections, yearly body scans, and expensive medications. “One of the biggest, scariest things about all this is that the treatments are horribly expensive,” Dave said. “My regular health insurance is good, but it doesn’t pick up all of it.”
Dave was grateful he had signed up for Limited Benefit Cancer Insurance. His policy helped cover his traveling needs, treatments, doctor visits, and other cancer-related expenses. “Your insurance has made my life stay the same,” he said. “It was the difference in me carrying on with normal activities. Knowing financially, I was sound versus chaos, catastrophe, and uncertainty.”
Trailblazing Support Team
Dave has also appreciated the guidance and continued support. He said,
“Your team really needs to be commended. They went through everything with me and made sure I was filing correctly and getting my benefits. Your claims department has been rock solid for continuing to take care of me.”
Plus, since filing his claims online usually takes him under three minutes, he has more time for his hobbies.
Staying on Track
While Dave has been cancer-free for almost three years, he still has a long road ahead. He is optimistic about his future and all his golfing and off-road adventures when he retires. The importance of having his cancer insurance and personal support during his journey has been priceless. When asked what he would tell others, Dave said, “It’s a small price to pay for the help it’s been to me.”
