American Fidelity Named a Great Place for Giving Back by Fortune Magazine

American Fidelity Corporation, the parent company of American Fidelity Assurance Company, has plans to develop the area south of their company headquarters located at Britton Road and I-235.
American Fidelity bought the 100-acre property in 2012 and after extensive renovations to the existing building moved their home office Colleagues to the new location. One of the goals when selecting the property was to develop the rest of the property to serve the community.
Plans are currently in place for the potential development of office space, a hotel, a movie theatre and restaurants. These developments would help bring growth to this area of the city and create jobs. American Fidelity subsidiary American Fidelity Property Company is working through the initial plans with developer Randy Hogan. These developments would be south of the ponds on the south side of the headquarters building.
American Fidelity has long history in supporting real estate development within Oklahoma City, especially along Classen Blvd. In 1979, the Cameron family started Classen Beautiful, a non-profit dedicated to improving the appearance of Classen Blvd. By 1988, the organization was turned over to city and became Oklahoma City Beautiful.
“The past few years have been an exciting time for American Fidelity as we’ve designed our new headquarters. Oklahoma City has changed so much since my grandfather moved his insurance agency to OKC in 1930. We want to be part of the city’s continued growth and look forward to possibilities and opportunities these developments can bring to OKC and the people in the local community,” said Bill Cameron, American Fidelity Corporation CEO.
The first phase of development will likely include two office buildings. American Fidelity is also in discussions with Flix Brewhouse, a movie theatre with an on-site craft brewery, to bring their concept to OKC. Timelines for the developments are not yet in place.
