Training Magazine Recognizes American Fidelity Assurance for 10th Consecutive Year
Company Ranks No. 101 on Training Top 125
(Oklahoma City, OK) – American Fidelity Assurance Company (AFA) has made the Training Magazine Top 125 list for the 10th consecutive year. The list recognizes companies that provide excellent training and development programs for their colleagues.
“One of the best ways to increase your job security is to never stop learning,” said David McLaughlin, talent management team leader. “With constant technological advancements the workplace has changed drastically during the last twenty years and will do so over the next twenty. Our training and career development team helps Colleagues adapt to these changes and learn new skills so they can continue to succeed and grow. In turn, this helps the Company succeed and better serve Customers.”
AFA offers onsite training to all Colleagues, ranging from courses on Customer service to computer skills. Our new Colleague orientation, StartSmart, introduces new Colleagues to the Company history, values, expectations and more. AFA offers a DISC course that helps Colleagues understand work styles and those of others and why all are important to the Company. These are just a few of the training courses that allow Colleagues to grow at AFA.
Leadership development classes are available, along with a mentorship program. Colleagues can receive assistance in obtaining industry certifications and can meet with a career development specialist to discuss what specific training options they should take to pursue the next step in their careers.
Through an arrangement with Oklahoma City Community College, enrollment services, guidance counseling and classes are offered onsite. Basic courses such as English and math are provided free to Colleagues, while other courses qualify for our tuition reimbursement program. Since the program began in 2011, we have had 183 enrollments.
Training magazine's annual awards program recognizes employer-sponsored training and development. The judging is based on an extensive application process and includes many factors, such as financial commitment, programs offered, metrics measured and methods of evaluation.
